Franco Bertaccini with hundreds of dissertations

While the DIT.Lab was being refurbished, we came upon this beautiful – and almost unbelievable – scene and decided to share it with you. The picture below shows Franco Bertaccini with huge piles of dissertations as a proof of his and his students’ extensive work. During his long career, he supervised more than 300 dissertations that are now carefully stored in the DIT.Lab archives. Many of our former students have entered the world of work thanks to these dissertations, which also served as a basis for advanced studies in the fields of terminology and computer-assisted translation. As Franco Bertaccini said when this picture was taken: “If only for a single paragraph, each of these dissertations contributed to advancing research and knowledge, and for this reason they must not be forgotten”. And we couldn’t agree more. Grazie Prof.!
